Vlasta Baránková

A Czech artist who lives and works in Brno, she began her career designing toys and puppets before moving into graphic and exhibition design. She later expanded into painting, children’s-book illustration, and animated series. Since 1986 she has collaborated with Bohem Press and, later, with the publishers Albatros and Bambook, illustrating songbooks by Zdeněk Svěrák and Jaroslav Uhlíř. Her work has been shown at exhibitions in the Czech Republic and internationally, earning her numerous awards.
