David McKee

British writer and illustrator of children's books and animated films. He published his first book, Two Can Toucan, in 1964, and in 1968 he introduced his famous character Elmer, a colorful elephant (the books have been translated into more than twenty languages, and Elmer has also become a successful merchandise brand). Among his most successful book series are Mr. Benn and King Rollo, which, like Elmer, have been adapted into films. David McKee is considered one of the most important British illustrators of all time.
